Google Workspace mail can be used in Outlook, but the best setup depends on whether you are using standard IMAP access or Google Workspace Sync tools. Many users prefer the Gmail web interface, but Outlook can still be used where required.
Before you start
- Confirm the mailbox works in Gmail webmail.
- Check whether two-factor authentication is enabled.
- Make sure IMAP is enabled for the Gmail account if using IMAP.
- Confirm the correct password or app password method.

- Open Outlook.
- Add a new account.
- Enter the Google Workspace email address.
- Follow the Google sign-in prompt.
- Approve any two-factor authentication prompt.
- Allow Outlook access when asked.
