Cloudflare Error 522 Explained Print

  • 0

Cloudflare Error 522 means Cloudflare could not establish a connection to the origin server. In simple terms, Cloudflare tried to reach your hosting server but did not receive a successful response in time.

Common causes

  • The origin server is offline or overloaded.
  • The server firewall is blocking Cloudflare IP addresses.
  • The website IP address in Cloudflare DNS is wrong.
  • The hosting account or server is suspended.
  • There is a routing or network problem.

What to check

  1. Check whether the origin server is online.
  2. Confirm the A record in Cloudflare points to the correct IP address.
  3. Check whether the server firewall allows Cloudflare traffic.
  4. Temporarily pause Cloudflare only if safe to do so.
  5. Check server load and web server status.

Important note

Error 522 is usually not caused by a browser problem. It normally requires DNS, firewall or hosting/server checks.
